You will be taken to the General Assembly by your City Counselors

You will be taken to Meeting Location by your City Counselor

Cities rotate - the ones at dinner will have their initial meeting while those that met at 5:00 p.m. will come to dinner during this time

City Orientation:
Program Overview- Election of City Officials, such as Mayor, Color Guard, Press Corps, and Olympiad Director. 

1. Senior Counselors Confirm roster of city members

2. Review of Political and Election Procedures

3. Citizens Conduct Election of City Administration

   • Counselor explains forms and duties of various City governments and officials.

   • Council/commission members may seek other elective or appointive offices.

   • Mayor presides at all City Meetings and is host for the City’s Visiting Dignitaries.

     • Mayor may not seek another elective office but may seek any appointive or party offices

   • Press Corps member may not seek another elective office nor any appointive or party offices

   • Selection of Olympiad Director, Color Guard, Press Corps and other desired City Officials.

4. Completion of Filing Forms and begin obtaining signatures

   • Distribution of blank Filing Forms

   • Explain the Completion of Filing Forms.

     • All information on Forms to be printed, legibly.

     • Use your full name.

     • Use correct "Office Identification Number."

     • Use correct "Political Subdivision Number."

     • Ballots are prepared from "Office Identification Number"

   • Procedure for obtaining signatures for Filing Forms

     • Must be of same party and resident of political subdivision of candidate

     • Must not sign more forms than number to be elected

   • Forms will be voided if incorrectly completed

You will be taken to the City Orientation Meeting Room by your City Counselors

General Assembly:
Demonstrate how we will do Flag Lowering

You will be taken to the Terrace by your City Counselors

10:15 p.m.

All Cities released to return to Dorm Areas

All Statesmen will return to Dorm Area with City Counselors
